Self-hosted IT asset management, on your own server
Many IT asset tools have moved to the cloud. Census hasn't. It runs entirely on a Windows or Linux server you control, nothing about your network leaves it, and you own the license.
No cloud account
Inventory, credentials and tickets are stored on your server. Nothing about your network is sent to us or to any cloud service.
Offline activation
License keys are verified on your server, with no call home. Census works on networks with no internet access.
Isolated networks
Census downloads public vulnerability data daily and end-of-life data weekly. On air-gapped networks, turn that off and upload the feed files yourself.
One program
No SQL Server, IIS or Java. The database is built in, and PostgreSQL is supported for very large estates.
Remote sites
Unlimited remote scanners and agents, included, with post-quantum hybrid encryption between sites.
Yours to keep
A perpetual license at $1 per asset, once. If you stop renewing updates, your version keeps working forever.
When asset data can't leave the building
An inventory tool holds a map of your network, its weaknesses and the credentials to reach it. For many organizations that data must stay on-premise:
- Healthcare, finance and government with data residency or audit rules.
- Schools and districts on tight budgets that can't take on another subscription.
- Manufacturing and plant networks with limited or no internet access.
- Anyone who'd rather own their tools than rent them.
A tool with admin rights should earn trust
- Stored credentials encrypted with AES-256-GCM, with the key kept outside the database.
- Agents use HTTPS with certificate pinning and sign every request.
- Two-step sign-in, passkeys, sign-in with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Google or Okta, custom roles and a full audit log.
- BitLocker recovery keys kept encrypted on your server; every look is recorded.
