Docker
Load the image with docker load -i <file>, then start it as described in the guide. Installation guide
Check a download against SHA256SUMS: Get-FileHash <file> in PowerShell, or sha256sum -c SHA256SUMS --ignore-missing on Linux. The Census agent, remote scanner and Action Launcher for every platform come with the server: once it's installed, download or push them from the console's Census agents page.
Windows Server
- Run the
.msion the server. The setup wizard asks you to accept the license and lets you choose the install folder, web console port and data folder (or keep the defaults). - Leave Open the Census console now ticked. Continue past the certificate warning: the server makes its own certificate until you add a trusted one.
- Create your administrator account and follow the first steps.
The beta installer isn't code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may say it "protected your PC". Choose More info › Run anyway.
Linux
- Unpack the archive for your processor (x64 = amd64, ARM = arm64):
tar xzf steward-it-census-0.84.0-linux-amd64.tar.gz - Install the service:
cd steward-it-census-0.84.0-linux-amd64 && sudo ./census-server install - Browse to
https://<server>:8443and create your administrator account.
Any 64-bit Linux with systemd. See the installation guide.

Staying up to date
The console tells administrators when a newer version is out. To upgrade, run the new installer, or install again on Linux: your data and settings are kept, also when you move from the beta to 1.0. See Upgrading.
