Steward IT Census
Steward IT Census finds every device on your network and keeps a detailed, always-current inventory of your computers, servers, printers, network gear, phones and more. It runs on your own server, your data never leaves your network, and it's sold with a perpetual license: buy it once, own it forever.
Why "Steward"?#
stew·ard·ship (noun): the careful and responsible management of something entrusted to one's care.
Steward isn't a person's name. It's the idea the product is built on. Your organization trusts you with its computers, software, accounts and data, and Steward IT Census helps you take good care of them: know what you have, keep it secure and up to date, and account for every asset.
We try to be good stewards of what you trust us with, too. Your inventory stays on your own server, nothing is sent to us, and your license is yours to keep.
What it does#
| Area | Highlights |
|---|---|
| Discovery | Scans IP ranges and identifies devices by open ports, DNS, MAC vendor (58,000+ vendors) and web interface. |
| Deep inventory | Windows (WinRM or agent), Linux / macOS / Unix (SSH or agent) and network devices (SNMP): hardware, serials, OS and build, software, services, users, security status and more. |
| Census agent | A small agent for laptops and remote machines that reports from anywhere, with no inbound firewall rules needed. |
| Active Directory | Syncs users, groups and computers, and maps OUs onto assets. |
| Software | A software catalog across all machines, authorized / unauthorized / tolerated status, license compliance and one-click uninstall. |
| Deployment | Pushes installers and scripts (PowerShell, Batch, bash, Python…) to one machine or hundreds, and shows the result per machine. |
| Actions | Remote Desktop, a web Console, service control, diagnostics, Wake-on-LAN, screenshots and your own custom actions. |
| Reports & alerts | 90+ built-in reports, a visual report builder (and SQL for advanced users), a customizable dashboard and email alerts. |
